Laser Hair Removal or ‘IPL’ (Intense Pulse Light) has rapidly become the most effective method for treating unwanted or excessive hair.
We use the industry-leading NRG ICE laser system – the only IPL permanent hair reduction system on the market that works on all hair and skin colours. The built in ICE cold system ensures pain-free, speedy results with little or no regrowth following your course of treatments.
On your initial visit, a thorough medical pre-consultation will be carried out to find out what you would like to achieve. A patch test will also be carried out on the area you require to be treated.
The laser applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many follicles simultaneously. The laser produces a ray of high intensity light that gives off heat energy, heating the melanin (the pigment in the hair follicle) and destroying the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cell, preventing any further hair growth.
The applicator is then moved to the next surrounding area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is covered. For IPL treatments, a thin layer of gel is applied to the skin to help guide the light.
Hair has a three stage life cycle, starting with the active growth stage, and only hairs that are in the active growth stage will be destroyed by the laser.

Generally, no, people describe the feeling as a ‘zap’ or ‘ping’ like an elastic band, but due to the cooled head system, there is little or no pain felt.
Hair appears to still be growing but is in fact detached from the follicle, gentle exfoliation removes these, and there is no future hair growth from these follicles* (*apart from clients experiencing hormone conditions)’.
Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore a course of treatments is needed depending on the area being treated and until a good result is seen.

Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6-week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growing cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment. However, at least 6 treatments are required for a mor permanent result.
Treatments can take as little as 10 minutes and up to 1 hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Aftercare
There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated.
For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers and tight restrictive clothing.
After the treatment avoid the sun and always use sunscreen 50+ to protect the skin and maintain results.
